Ans-

A = 4 unit

B = 5 unit

C = 6 unit

Total work = 30*4 = 120 unit

If they work together than total work in 3 days = (4+5+6)*3 = 45

Remaining work = 120-45 = 75

Time taken by B = 75/5 = 15 days

Q11. If (2x+1), (x+2), 2 and 5 are in proportion, then find the mean proportional of  3.5(1-x) and 8(1+x)

Ans-

Ans-

Q14. A shopkeeper earns a profit of 20% after giving two successive discounts of 25% and 20%. If he gives no discount then find the profit percentage?

Ans-

Let the cost price = 100

20% discount =  5 : 4

                           ________

                              5 : 3

3 unit = 120

5 unit = 200

If no discount is allowed then profit will be 100%

Or

effective discount = 40%

60% = 120

100% = 200

Then new profit = 100%
