1. Credulity (भोलापन)       

Meaning-

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick-

  • Credibility means belief on proved evidences and credulity means believing too easily.

Synonyms-

  • Credulousness, Gullibility, naiveness, Simpleness

Antonyms-

  • Incredulity, Skepticism

Example-

  • Thanks to my credulity when I was young, I truly believed my mom always knew when I was lying.
  •  If you will believe almost anything that you are told, you have far too much credulity.

2. Dwindle (महत्त्व खोना,कम होना )

Meaning-

  • Diminish, Reduce

Part of Speech- Verb

Trick-

  • If a Swindler swindles you then your saving dwindles

Synonyms-

  • Abate, decline, die down , diminish, lessen, shrink, subside, Downsize, knock down , lower

Antonyms-

  • augment,boost, enlarge,escalate,boost

Example-

  • When the Restaurant  Manager realized that his supply of the popular Dish was about to dwindle, he placed an order for a thousand more units.
  • As the number of workers began to dwindle because of the cutbacks, the workload of each person became intolerable.

3. Ellipsis -(पदन्यूनता)

Meaning-

  • omission from speech or writing of a word or words that are superfluous or able to be understood from contextual clues.

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick –

  • If you are editor of a newspaper, while editing on the words you would make an ellipsis on the words which are to be omitted

Synonyms-

  • Antistrophe, Antithesis,echoism

Example-

  • If you are editor of a newspaper, while editing on the words you would make an ellipsis on the words which are to be omitted
  • The English Teacher Asked the students to make ellipsis on superfluous words .

4. Ignominy (बदनामी)

Meaning-

  • Slander

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick-

Someone who practice Polygamy should suffer Ignominy

Synonyms:-

  • baseness, Disgrace, lowness, sordidness, meanness

Antonyms

  • Esteem , Honor, Respect

Example-

  • For some people Their Reputation is everything for them they can’t even tolerate ignominy.
  • Rajesh’s many extra-marital affairs brought ignominy to his wife.

5. Importunate (जिद्दी)

Meaning-

  • Stubborn

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick :-

  • Sometimes Who is Im (not) + Portunate (Fortunate) urges  or demands money to buy food

Synonyms-

  • Burning, Clamant, Dogged, Earnest, Exigent, Solicitous

Example-

  • If you are expecting a help from me, you will not ask in such an importunate manner.
  • The importunate customer loudly demanded the manager give her a refund for the damaged product she had purchased.
