English Important Vocabulary
1. Extrinsic (अजनबी)

Meaning-

  • Stranger, Foreign

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick-

  • Something Extrinsic means something Extra i.e not necessary

Synonyms

  • Extraneous, Superficial, Exterior, External, imported, Alien, Acquired, exotic

Antonyms-

  • intrinsic, inherent, innate

Example-

  • We were sure that all your views are extrinsic , not your own views.
  • My previous session was based on the intrinsic and extrinsic factors that brought changes in history of India.

2. Impecunious (निर्धन)

Meaning-

  • Poor

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick-

  • Im(Not ) + Pecuni (Money)  i.e someone without money or Poor

Synonyms-

  • Destitute, indigent, penniless, impoverished , Penurious, insolvent

Antonyms-

  • Affluent, deep-pocketed,opulent, Well-heeled, well-off, Well-to-do

Example-

  • My relatives are impecunious ,therefore I will  help them definitely.
  • I can’t even believe that a rich women like her can marry such a Impecunious guy.

3. Infinitesimal (अतिसूक्ष्म)

Meaning-

  • very small

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick –

  • Read it as infinitely small

Synonyms-

  • minuscule, negligible,minute, atomic, insignificant, tiny, unnoticeable, microscopic, imperceptible, inconsiderable,teeny

Antonyms-

  • Colossal, Elephantine, enormous, mammoth,Planetary, Herculean, tremendous

Example-

  • The impact of his performance made a infinitesimal effect on ranking of company
  • Infinitesimal efforts can’t made big things happen.

4. lackadaisical (भावुक)

Meaning –

  • Lacking Spirit

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick-

  • lackadaisical sounds as LACKDIZEALCAL hence the meaning lack of zeal

Synonyms:-

  • Apathetic, Half Hearted, Languid, Energyless, Enervated, moony, indolent, Dull

Antonyms:-

  • Ambitious, Animated, Energetic,Enterprising, motivated

Example-

  • When I heard his life story , I got lackadaisical.
  • I am sure that this pill will not cause you feel lazy and lackadaisical

5. Recurrence (पुनरावृत्ति)

Meaning-

  • Repeated, Happening

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick :-

  • Return of Spring is known as Recurrence

Synonyms-

  • Frequency, Habituation, Repetition , To have recourse, To come up again to mind.

Example-

  • There is only a slight chance that the disease will recur
  • The same problem keeps recurring
