1. Palliate (कम करना ,शांत करना)

Meaning-

  • Soothe, Allay,assuage,
  • Pacify, to make the effects less
  • Painful

Part of Speech -Verb

Trick-

  • It can be Pale (Faint because of disease) + ate eating the Pain i.e reducing it

Synonyms-

  • Mitigate, Relieve,Alleviate, Mollify,Soften,alleviate, Lighten

Antonyms-

  • Agitate, Aggravate, Exacerbate

Example-

  1. After a long time of illness, Vinay takes a pill to palliate the symptoms of the disease
  2. While the doctor could not cure the disease,he referred the patient to another specialist to palliate the pain of patient.

2. Pertinacious (अचल)

Meaning-

  • Adhering resoltuely to an
  • opinion, purpose, or Design

  • Pertinacious = Pre (before) teenage the age before teenage is where a person shows a childish behavior and is very stubborn in negative sentence.

  • Attentive,Determined,Dogged ,Persistent, Tenacious, Persistent

  • Agreeable,amendable,compliant,Complying , Flexible ,Pliable ,Relenting , Yielding

3. Heretical (धर्म विरोधी)

Meaning-

  • Anti-Religion

Part of Speech – Adjective

Synonyms-

  • Dissentment,Dissenting,Dissident, Heterodox, iconoclastic, Agnostic,

Trick –

  • Heretical reminds of hierarchy which means divisions of labor with set rules which does not follow the set rules is ‘Heretical’

Antonyms-

  • Orthodox, Conforming

Example-

  1. People with Heretical beliefs are very persistent about their ideology.
  2. The belief that women should be allowed to have careers outside the home was once considered heretical

4. Groundscraper-

Part of Speech– Noun

Meaning-

  • A groundscraper is a large building that is only around a dozen stories high but which greatly extends horizontally

Example-

  1. There are lots of Groundscrapers near Hilly areas in USA.
  2. People having phobia for height should never enter a groundscraper.

5. Glean(बीनना)

Meaning-

  • Pick Out,Collect

  • It sounds like clean by gathering the leaving bit by bit

Cull , Deduce, Extract, Garner, Reap, Harvest, accumulate,Amass, Conclude, Sift, Gather

Example-

  2. The elderly professor could not understand why candidates preferred to glean their facts from Internet instead of from books.
