Daily Learning Vocabulary
1. Excoriate(चमड़ी छिल जाना)                

Meaning-

  • Skinny Peeling, Scrape layers off, to severely condemn

Part of Speech- Verb

Trick-

  • Excoriate (sounds like ex + koriate) koreans are chinese and they are good in fighting and tend to rip the skin off (a korean ate you ) so being very severe.

Synonyms-

  • abrade, chafe, flay, fret, gall, peel, rub,scarify, scratch, strip

Antonyms:-

  • Cover, make happy, compliment,laud, Praise

Example-

  • While playing football ,Mohan got his knee excoriated.
  • She will definitely excoriate the decision to allow women in temples.

2. Geniality (मिलनसारी)

Meaning-

  • Extreme niceness

Part of Speech- Noun

Trick-

  • Congenial (being friendly)

Synonyms-

  • Conviviality, Amiability, Congenialness, Cordiality, friendliness, joviality

Antonyms-

  • Aloofness, sadness, depression, gloom, unfriendliness, unhappiness

Example-

  • Mr. Sharma is such a genial man , that students don’t  hesitate to approach him.
  • Your geniality and polite behavior helped us a lot to get this deal.

3. Gnarled (ऐंठा हुआ)

Meaning-

Knotty, Twisted

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick –

  • When you say the word Gnarled very fast our tongue gets twisted

Synonyms-

  • Contorted, crooked, deformed, distorted, Wrinkled, Out of shape, Deformed

Antonyms-

  • Straight, unbent, uncurled, untwisted

Example-

  • It was hard to not stare at the Gnarled face of that girl.
  • Everyone was surprised when the carpenter was able to build a wooden piece of art out of the gnarled timber.

4. Impenitent (पश्‍चातापहीन)

Meaning-

unrepentant

Part of Speech- Adjective

Trick-

  • Im- not, Penitent – penitence or repenting, Someone who is impenitent does not do penitence after confession.

Synonyms:-

  • Hardened, Obdurate, remorseless, uncontrite

Antonyms:-

  • Ashamed,penitent, regretful, shamed, repentant

Example-

  • A smile on  her face showed her impenitent feelings about her mistakes.
  • The impenitent students feel no shame on their mistakes.

5. Improvident (लापरवाह)

Meaning-

  • Careless, Spendthrift

Part of Speech-Adjective

Trick :-

  • Im (not)   + Provident (providing) not providing for the future i.e thriftless

Synonyms-

  • Extravagant, heedless, imprudent, inconsiderate, Lavish

Antonyms-

  • Careful, miserly, provident,thrifty

Example

  • His improvident behaviour made his parents tensed about his future.
  • The improvident police officer accepted the bail of culprit.
