  • India International Trade Fair (IITF) organized in India.

36th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) organized in New Delhi India on 14th November, 2016 and will continue till November 18, 2016.The fair will be inaugurated by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee with the theme “Digital India”.

This year’s partner country and states are South Korea and Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand respectively. The focus country and state are Belarus and Haryana respectively.

  • Israel President arrives in Mumbai on 6-day visit.

Israel President Reuven Rivlin arrived in Mumbai today morning on a six-day visit to India to further strengthen bilateral ties.

Mr. Rivlin, who landed at the Mumbai airport with a large delegation of businessmen and academicians. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and visit several sites of cooperation and joint projects between the two nations.

The Israeli leader will join President Pranab Mukherjee in opening an agrotech conference in Chandigarh.

  • Indo-Nepal joint training exercise- Surya Kiran Culminates.

Indo-Nepal Joint Military Training was conducted at Army Battle School (NABS),Saljhandi, Nepal.The troops of the Kumaon Regt and Jabar Jung Battalion of Nepal Army participated. Surya Kiran-X, which was the tenth such Indo-Nepal joint training exercise between the two nations, provided an ideal platform for troops of the two countries to share their experiences on Counter Terrorists Operations and Disaster Management.

Other activities conducted during training included basic familiarisation with each other’s weapons & equipment and concepts while operating in Counter Terrorism environment. The training culminated with a 72 hrs outdoor exercise in which troops of both contingents carried out a Cordon and Search Operation in a mock village.

  • India-China Joint Training Exercise “Hand in Hand 2016”.

India-China Joint Training Exercise “Hand in Hand 2016” is scheduled to be held in Pune from 15November to 27 November.
It is aimed at honing military skills of the two armies by sharing expertise in drills while tackling insurgency and terrorism. This would mark the 6th annual joint training exercise between the Indian Army and the People’s Liberation Army of China.

  • Anvita Prashant Telang won the ‘Doodle 4 Google’ contest.

India is celebrating Children’s Day with a vibrant and colourful doodle on its homepage. What makes the doodle more special is that it is a drawing by an 11-year-old from Pune, Anvita Prashant Telang, who won the ‘Doodle 4 Google’ contest this year.

Anvita had submitted a drawing to Google India on the theme — “If I could teach anyone anything, it would be”.  In her drawing, she tried to put across the message of “enjoy every moment of your life”.

  • Union Government unveils steps to boost cyber security.



Union Government has unveiled a slew of measures in an attempt to strengthen cyber security in India. It was announced by the Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ravi Shankar Prasad at the Economic Editors’ Conference-2016.

The conference was organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Finance in New Delhi.

  • National Mining Seminar at NLC India.

Shri  Anil Swarup  Secretary, Ministry of Coal, GoI, inaugurated the 2- day National Mining  Seminar,organized by  NLC India Limited on the theme “Eco friendly Surface miningTechnology, Challenges & Way Forward” through Video Conferencing  from Delhi , this morning .

NLC India Limited has organised a two day National Level Mining Seminar on November 12th & 13th 2016, as part of its Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, at the Neyveli Learning & Development Centre.

The Mining Seminar intended to pitch light on challenges and to analyze the ways & means to understand how Surface Mining can become more environmentally sustainable by developing and integrating practices that reduce the environmental impact of mining operations.

  • National Metallurgists’ Day

The National Metallurgists’ Day, organized by the Indian Institute of Technology will take place on 14th November 2016 at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in Kanpur, India.

The conference will cover areas like science of metals and materials, iron and steel extraction and processing, non-ferrous metals extraction and processing and advances in manufacturing.

  • World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day was first introduced in 1991, and founded by both the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization. In reaction to the rise in cases of Diabetes worldwide, it was decided to choose a day of the year to raise awareness of Diabetes and related causes.

The theme of World Diabetes Day 2016 is “Eyes on Diabetes”. The year’s activities and materials will focus on promoting the importance of screening to ensure early diagnosis of type 2 diabetes and treatment to reduce the risk of serious complications.

  • Trump names Priebus, Bannon to senior White House roles.

Donald Trump made his first two key personnel appointments, one an overture to Republican circles by naming GOP chief Reince Priebus as his White House chief of staff, the other a shot across the bow of the Washington establishment by selecting Stephan Bannon as chief strategist and senior counselor.

The two men had made up the president-elect’s chief of staff shortlist, and while Priebus received that job, Mr. Bannon’s post also is expected to wield significant clout. The media executive with ties to the alt-right and white nationalist movement was given top billing in the press release announcing their appointments.

  • Federal Bank to open first overseas bank in Dubai.

Federal Bank, India’s major commercial bank in the private sector has received Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s permission to open its first international branch at the Dubai International FinancialCentre.

  • Amresh Acharya appointed as Group President and Head of Global Indian Banking.

YES Bank has appointed Amresh Acharya as Group President and Head of Global Indian Banking.

The YES Bank is the only Greenfield Bank license awarded by the RBI in the last two decades, associated with the finest pedigree investors.

  • Gulzar will be honoured Tata Literature Live! Poet Laureate Award.

Lyricist-writer Gulzar will be honoured with 2016 Tata Literature Live! Poet Laureate Award.

The award will be presented to Gulzar, an Oscar and Grammy Award winner, at the inaugural of the festival on November 17.

  • Jackie Chan received an honorary Oscar

Hollywood actor Jackie Chan received his little gold statuette, an honorary Oscar for his decades of work in film on November 13th at the annual Governors Awards.

While receiving the award Chan (62) praised his hometown Hong Kong for making him “proud to be Chinese,” and thanked his fans.
