• Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard will conduct a joint military exercise ‘Exercise Kavach’ under the aegis of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.

• It is scheduled to be held next week in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

• The exercise aims to develop synergy between air and sea strikes, air defense, submarine, and landing operations.

• It will also help in the coordinated use of maritime surveillance resources.

• An Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) exercise will also be conducted between the three services.  

• The armed forces had conducted a joint tri-service exercise, ‘Bull Strike’ from 3 November 2020 to 5 November 2020 under the Andaman and Nicobar Command.

• संयुक्‍त बल कमान अंडमान एवं निकोबार कमान  के तहत भारतीय सेना Indian Army, भारतीय नौसेना Indian Navy, भारतीय वायुसेना Indian Air Force एवं भारतीय तटरक्षक Indian Coast Guard के संसाधनों को मिलाकर एक संयुक्‍त सैन्‍य अभ्‍यास– अभ्‍यास कवच का आयोजन किया हैं।

• It will bring transparency to the governance of the state. It will help the state government in the release of funds based on the expenditure details provided by the software.

• Kokborok Day, also called Tripuri language Day is observed on January 19 every year.

• Tripura observed the 42nd anniversary of the recognition of Kokborok dialect as an official language of the state with a series of programs and colourful events.
• Kokborok was recognized as an official language in 1979 but still it is not included in the 8th schedule. 
• 19 जनवरी को त्रिपुरा में 43वें कोकबोरोक दिवस का आयोजन किया गया। 

•  ‘कोकबोरोक’ त्रिपुरा की मूल भाषा है। इसमें ‘कोक’ का अर्थ है ‘भाषा’ और ‘बोरोक’ का अर्थ है ‘लोग’। ‘कोकबोरोक’ भाषा को लेकर 19 जनवरी, 1979 को त्रिपुरा विधानसभा में विधेयक पारित किया गया था, जिसमें ‘कोकबोरोक’ को राज्य की आधिकारिक भाषा के रूप में मान्यता दी गई और तब से इसका उपयोग सरकारी कार्यालयों में किया जाता रहा है। 
• वर्तमान में त्रिपुरा की आदिवासी आबादी का 70 से 75 फीसदी हिस्सा ‘कोकबोरोक’ भाषा बोलता है।

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Risa is a customary hand woven cloth used by Tripura’s indigenous tribal communities.

• It is one of the three parts of customary Tripura female attire, the other two being the Rignai and Rikutu.

• The Risa is used as a head gear, stole and female upper cloth or presented to honour a distinguished recipient.

• Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has successfully fired DRDO’s Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW) from the Hawk-i aircraft off the coast of Odisha.

• The SAAW is a precision strike weapon that can be used to target enemy airfield assets such as radars, bunkers, taxi tracks, and runways. Indigenously developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation’s research center Imarat, the weapon has a range of 100 km. 

• It is the first smart weapon to be fired from an Indian Hawk Mk132 trainer aircraft.

• हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड ने ओडिशा के तट से हॉक-आई विमान से DRDO के स्मार्ट एंटी एयरफील्ड वेपन (SAAW) को सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है।

• SAAW एक सटीक स्ट्राइक हथियार है जिसका इस्तेमाल दुश्मन की हवाई संपत्ति जैसे राडार, बंकर, टैक्सी ट्रैक और रनवे को निशाना बनाने के लिए किया जाता है। 

• रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन के अनुसंधान केंद्र द्वारा स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित, हथियार की सीमा 100 किमी है।
• यह भारतीय हॉक ट्रेनर विमान से दागे जाने वाला पहला स्मार्ट हथियार है।
