• Raja Chari, 43, is a colonel in the US Air Force. He will be the commander of SpaceX Crew-3 mission while Nasa's Tom Marshburn will be pilot and ESA's Matthias Maurer will serve as a mission specialist. This mission is expected to be launched next year.
• The fourth crew member of this mission will be added at a later date, following a review by Nasa and its international partners.

• The funding came under the NDB’s fast-track emergency response to COVID-19 and is expected to help preserve rural income and sustain rural expenditure, thereby resulting in increased demand that aids economic recovery.
• The loan comes with a 30-year tenor and includes a five-year grace period

•  It was cut off during the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

•  The Haldibari-Chilahati rail link was part of the Broad Gauge main route from Kolkata to Siliguri.

• With the inauguration of the Haldibari-Chilahati rail link, five out of six rail links will become operational. The other four operational rail links between India and Bangladesh are Petrapole-Benapole, Gede-Darshana, Singhabad-Rohanpur and Radhikapur-Birol.

• Haldibari-Chilahati route will enhance connectivity to Assam and West Bengal from Bangladesh.

• The national space agency ISRO has launched India’s communication satellite CMS-01 using the rocket PSLV-C50.

• This satellite will be the replacement of aged satellite GSAT-12.

• The launch was held from the second launch pad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.

• For the PSLV rocket, this would be the 52nd flight and for the national space agency ISRO, this would be the 77th launch mission from home.

• Generally, communication satellites are heavier and therefore the PSLV rocket carrying it requires an extra thrust to take them to the geo-synchronous transfer orbit.

• The role of providing the additional thrust will be played by the six strap-on motors fitted with the rocket.
