• The eco-friendly, non-toxic paint, called “Khadi Prakritik Paint” is a first-of-its-kind product, with antifungal, antibacterial properties.

• It has been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards.

• Khadi Prakritik Paint is available in two forms – distemper paint and plastic emulsion paint.

• The project was conceptualized by Chairman KVIC in March 2020, and later developed by Kumarappa National Handmade Paper Institute, Jaipur (a KVIC unit).

• केन्‍द्रीय सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways तथा MSME मंत्री श्री नितिन गडकरी ने खादी एवं ग्रामोद्योग आयोग द्वारा विकसित एक अभिनव पेंट लॉन्च किया| ‘खादी प्राकृतिक पेंट’ नामक यह पेंट पर्यावरण अनुकूल, विष-रहित eco-friendly, non-toxic  है, जो फफूंद-रोधी, जीवाणु-रोधी गुणों antifungal, antibacterial properties के साथ अपनी तरह का पहला उत्‍पाद है। मुख्‍य घटक के रूप में गाय के गोबर पर आधारित यह पेंट किफायती और गंधहीन है, जिसे भारतीय मानक ब्‍यूरो Bureau of Indian Standards द्वारा प्रमाणित किया गया है।

• खादी प्राकृतिक पेंट दो रूपों यानी डिस्‍टेंपर पेंट तथा प्‍लास्टिक इम्‍यूलेशन पेंट में उपलब्‍ध है। 

• खादी ग्रामोद्योग आयोग (केवीआईसी) के अध्‍यक्ष द्वारा मार्च, 2020 में इस परियोजना की अवधारणा तैयार की गई थी।
