• Justice RS Chauhan was administered oath as the new Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court by Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya at a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan.

• Before Justice RS Chauhan, Justice Ramesh Ranganathan was the chief justice of Uttarakhand HC. 

• He had been transferred to the High Court of Uttarakhand and had assumed charge in November 2018. He retired on July 27, 2020, after which the post fell vacant.

• जस्टिस R S चौहान को राजभवन में आयोजित एक समारोह में उत्तराखंड के राज्यपाल बेबी रानी मौर्य ने उत्तराखंड उच्च न्यायालय के नए मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में शपथ दिलाई।

•  आर एस चौहान से पहले, जस्टिस रमेश रंगनाथन उत्तराखंड  के हाई कोर्ट के चीफ जस्टिस थे।

• He was commissioned in the Rajput Regiment in June 1978. He was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal for his role in the conflict.

• After retirement, he was the Chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission.

• It has been launched under the National Krishi Vikas Yojana.

• The trials are being conducted at Dr. Karni Singh shooting range.

• ISSF World Cup gold medallist Sanjeev Rajput, who had won the T1 trials earlier, also qualified for the T2 finals but could only manage a sixth place.

• Recently, the Standing Committee of the National Board of Wildlife has approved the advisory for management of Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) in the country.

• The  approval was given for including Caracal, a medium-sized wildcat into the list of critically endangered species for taking up conservation efforts with financial support under the centrally sponsored scheme Integrated Development of Wildlife Habitat.

• In India, presence of these Cats has been reported from only three states which are Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

• हाल ही में अपनी 60वीं बैठक में 'राष्ट्रीय वन्यजीव बोर्ड' की स्थायी समिति ने देश में मानव-वन्यजीव संघर्ष (Human-Wildlife Conflict- HWC) के प्रबंधन हेतु परामर्श को मंज़ूरी दे दी है।

• बैठक में केंद्र प्रयोजित वन्यजीव आवास एकीकृत विकास योजना में मध्यम आकार की जंगली बिल्ली कैराकल को गंभीर रूप से लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियों की सूचि में शामिल किया गया है|

• जिसके संरक्षण हेतु वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान की जाएगी।

• भारत में, इन बिल्लियों की उपस्थिति केवल तीन राज्यों से पाई जाती है- मध्य प्रदेश, गुजरात और राजस्थान.
