Q1. Which country's former Prime Minister has been named among the list of recipients of Padma Vibhushan Award 2021?

• The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced 119 Padma awards — seven Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri 

• Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe and late singer S P Balasubrahmanyam were among the 7 Padma Vibhushan awardees.

• Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Dalit leader Ram Vilas Paswan, Tarun Gogoi and Keshubhai Patel (all three posthumously), and ex-principal secretary to the PM, Nripendra Misra, have been named for the Padma Bhushan.

• Among the awardees are 29 women and one transgender, while 10 are foreigners, NRIs, persons of Indian origin or overseas citizens of India.

• पूर्व जापानी पीएम शिंजो अबे और दिवंगत गायक एस पी बालासुब्रह्मण्यम 7 पद्म विभूषण पुरस्कार विजेताओं में शामिल है।

• पूर्व लोकसभा अध्यक्ष सुमित्रा महाजन, दलित नेता रामविलास पासवान, तरुण गोगोई और केशुभाई पटेल (तीनों मरणोपरांत) और प्रधान मंत्री के पूर्व सचिव नृपेंद्र मिश्रा का नाम पद्म भूषण के लिए रखा गया है।

• पुरस्कृत होने वालों में 29 महिलाएं और एक ट्रांसजेंडर शामिल हैं, जबकि 10 विदेशी, एनआरआई, भारतीय मूल के व्यक्ति या भारत के विदेशी नागरिक भी शामिल हैं।

Colonel B Santosh Babu, the Commanding Officer of 16 Bihar Regiment, who lost his life during the Galwan Valley clash last year, will be posthumously awarded with Maha Vir Chakra.

• राष्ट्रपति ने सशस्त्र बलों के कर्मियों और अन्य लोगों को 455 गैलेंट्री और अन्य रक्षा  पुरस्कारों की घोषणा की है।

• इनमें एक महावीर चक्र, 5 कीर्ति चक्र, 5 वीर चक्र, 7 शौर्य चक्र शामिल हैं।
• 16 बिहार रेजिमेंट के कमांडिंग ऑफिसर कर्नल बी संतोष बाबू, जिन्होंने पिछले साल गाल्वन घाटी में संघर्ष के दौरान अपनी जान गंवा दी थी, उन्हें मरणोपरांत महावीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया जाएगा।

• A large-scale tri-service joint amphibious exercise AMPHEX – 21 was conducted in the Andaman & Nicobar group of islands from 21 – 25 Jan 2021.

• The exercise involved participation of Naval ships, amphibious troops of the Army and different types of aircraft from the Air force.

• The exercise was aimed at validating India’s capabilities to safeguard the territorial integrity of it’s island territories. It also sought to enhance operational synergy and joint warfighting capabilities amongst the three Services.

• भारत में  त्रि-सेवा संयुक्त अभ्यास AMPHEX - 21 अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में 21 - 25 जनवरी 2021 से आयोजित किया गया।

• The prize is the most valuable prize in British poetry. 

• It comes with a cheque for 25,000 pounds and all the shortlisted poets are presented with cheques for 1,500 pounds each.

• Muhammed Muhsin of Kerala has been awarded with Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak posthumously.
• राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने 40 लोगों को जीवन रक्षा पदक श्रृंखला के पुरस्कार - 2020 से सम्मानित करने को मंजूरी दे दी है। 

• पुरस्कारों की सूचि में एक व्यक्ति को सर्वोत्तम जीवन रक्षा पदक , आठ लोगों को उत्तम जीवन रक्षा पदक  और 31 व्यक्तियों को जीवन रक्षा पदक शामिल हैं।
• केरल के मुहम्मद मुहसिन को मरणोपरांत सर्वोत्तम जीवन रक्षा पदक से सम्मानित किया गया है।
