• विश्व आर्द्रभूमि दिवस के अवसर पर पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन राज्य मंत्री श्री बाबुल सुप्रियो ने  National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), चेन्नई के भाग के रूप में आर्द्रभूमि संरक्षण एवं प्रबंधन केन्द्र (CWCM) की स्थापना की घोषणा की है। 

• आर्द्रभूमियों के संरक्षण, प्रबंधन और उचित उपयोग के लिए इस केंद्र की स्थापना की गयी है|

• भारत में लगभग 4.6 प्रतिशत जमीन आर्द्रभूमि है, जिनका क्षेत्रफल 1.526 करोड़ हेक्टेयर है और 
• भारत में 42 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महत्व की (रामसर साइट्स) नामित हैं, जिनका क्षेत्रफल 10.8 लाख हेक्टेयर है। वर्ष 2021 को 2 फरवरी, 1971 को रामसर समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर की 50वीं वर्षगांठ के रूप में मनाया गया है, इसी दिन विश्व आर्द्रभूमि दिवस मनाया जाता है।

• On the occasion of the World Wetland Day, the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Sh. Babul Supriyo has announced the establishment of India’s first Centre for Wetland Conservation and Management (CWCM)

• The CWCM would be a part of  the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), Chennai which is an institution under the Ministry of Forest and Climate Change (MoF&CC).

• The year 2021 also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971 in Ramsar, Iran, celebrated annually as World Wetlands Day. 
• At present, India has 42 sites designated as wetlands of international importance under Ramsar convention, covering a surface area of 1.08 million hectares.

• Stardust 1.0 was launched from Loring Commerce Centre in Maine, US. About Stardust 1.0

• It is a launch vehicle suited for student and budget payloads.

• The rocket can carry a maximum payload mass of 8 kg 

• The launch of Stardust 1.0 became the first commercial space launch in global history that was run by biofuel which is non-toxic for the environment as opposed to traditionally used rocket fuels.

• These rockets will help to launch small satellites called CubeSats into space in a way that is relatively cheaper than using traditional rocket fuel and is less toxic for the environment. 

• The rocket is manufactured by bluShift, an aerospace company based in Maine that is developing rockets that are powered by bio-derived fuels.
