• The President of India Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Justice NV Ramana as the 48th Chief Justice of India, accepting the recommendation made by the outgoing CJI SA Bobde, who is retiring on April 23.

• Justice Ramana will have a term till August 26, 2022. 

• Justice Ramana was the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court before his elevation to the Supreme Court on February 17, 2014 

• He was appointed as a Permanent Judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on June 27, 2000. 

• भारत के राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद ने CJI एसए बोबडे द्वारा की गई सिफारिश को स्वीकार करते हुए justice NV रमना को भारत के 48वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त करने की अधिसूचना जारी की है।

• वर्तमान CJI एसए बोबडे 23 अप्रैल को सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे हैं।

• CJI के रूप में जस्टिस रमना का कार्यकाल 26 अगस्त, 2022 तक होगा।

• 17 फरवरी, 2014 को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में नियुक्त होने से पहले न्यायमूर्ति रमना दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश थे। उनको 27 जून 2000 को आंध्र प्रदेश हाई कोर्ट का परमानेंट जज बनाया गया था। 2 सिंतबर 2013 को उन्हें दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट का चीफ जस्टिस बनाया गया और 17 फरवरी 2014 को वह सुप्रीम कोर्ट में जज बने।

• These two are part of a mini bureaucratic reshuffle with the movement of eight secretaries and the promotion of six additional secretaries to the post of Special Secretaries. 

• Ajai Seth is the 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre. 

• According to the executive record sheet of the IAS officer, he is back in Central posting after a gap of 13 years. 

• His last posting in Centre was as Adviser with Asian Development Bank Manila (2004-08). Prior to that, he was Director in the Economic Affairs Department.

• He is scheduled to be in service till June 30, 2025.

• Bajaj is a 1988 batch Indian Administrative Service Officer of the Haryana cadre.

• सरकार ने अजय सेठ को नया आर्थिक मामलों का सचिव Economic Affairs Secretary नियुक्त किया है।

• वह तरुण बजाज की जगह लेंगे जो नए राजस्व सचिव Revenue Secretary होंगे।

• The World Bank had recently forecast the Indian economy to grow in the 7.5% to 12.5% range in 2021-22.

•  अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) ने अनुमान व्यक्त किया है कि वित्त वर्ष 2021-22 में भारत की विकास दर 12.5 फीसद पर रह सकती है। 

• इस तरह IMF ने जनवरी के अपने अनुमान में संशोधन किया है।

• अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्रा कोष ने  जनवरी, 2021 में  2021-22 में भारत की इकोनॉमी वृद्धि दर 11.5 फीसद होने का अनुमान लगाया था।

• The loan limit under priority sector lending to Agri sector increased from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh
• The Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das kept the GDP growth projection for FY 2021-22 unchanged at 10.5 percent while pointing out that global growth remains uncertain.
• गवर्नर शक्तिकांत दास की अध्यक्षता में,  भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) की छह सदस्यीय मौद्रिक नीति समिति monetary policy committee ने अपनी द्विमासिक मौद्रिक नीति समीक्षा bi-monthly monetary policy review के परिणाम की घोषणा की।

• RBI ने बेंचमार्क रेपो रेट को यथास्थिति बनाए रखने का फैसला किया

• पॉलिसी रेपो दर या अल्पकालिक उधार दर short-term lending rate वर्तमान में 4% है, और रिवर्स रेपो दर 3.35% है
• कृषि क्षेत्र को प्राथमिकता देने वाले priority sector lending  के तहत ऋण सीमा 50 लाख रुपये से बढ़कर 60 लाख रुपये की गई है|
