• First supply of Used Cooking Oil based Biodiesel from Indian Oil’s Tikrikalan Terminal, Delhi flagged off by Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan.

• Chairman Indian Oil Shri S M Vaidya was also present on occasion. 

• IndianOil has started constructing eight Biodiesel plants across Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

• The Government had initiated Expressions of Interest for “Procurement of Bio-diesel produced from Used Cooking Oil” on the occasion of World Biofuel Day on 10th August 2019.

• Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) periodically release such “Expressions of Interest''. 

• Under this initiative, OMCs offer periodically incremental price guarantees for five years and extend off-take guarantees for ten years to prospective entrepreneurs.

• केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम मंत्री श्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान (Dharmendra Pradhan) ने इस्तेमाल किये गये कुकिंग ऑयल-आधारित बायोडीजल (used cooking oil-based biodiesel) की पहली आपूर्ति को हरी झंडी दिखाई।

• इसे Expression of Interests Scheme के तहत शुरू किया गया ।

• Expression of Interest Scheme 2019 में लॉन्च किया गया था।

• इसे इस्तेमाल किए गए कुकिंग ऑयल से उत्पादित बायो डीजल की खरीद के लिए लॉन्च किया गया था। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य इस्तेमाल किये गये खाना के तेल को एकत्रित करना और उसे बायोडीजल में बदलना है।
• अगस्त 2019 और नवंबर 2020 के बीच, यानी, योजना के पहले चरण के दौरान, 11 Expression of Interests प्राप्त हुए थे।

• Millets are gaining a lot of popularity globally because of high nutritive values and being gluten free also.

• उत्‍तराखंड में बाजरा के कई वेराइटी की पैदावार होती है और   सरकार भी ऑर्गेनिंग फार्मिंग को बढ़ावा दे रही है|

• एपीडा APEDA ने उत्तराखंड एग्रीकल्चर प्रोड्यूस मार्केटिंग बोर्ड  के साथ मिलकर processed ragi (finger millet), और झिंगोरा (barnyard millet) जो जैविक प्रमाणीकरण मानकों organic certification standards को पूरा करते है; डेनमार्क में उनका निर्यात शुरू किया है| 
• अपीडा ने कहा कि डेनमार्क में भारत से ऑर्गेनिक बाजरे के निर्यात शुरू होने से अन्‍य यूरोपीय देशों में भी निर्यात के अवसर खुलेंगे. बीते कुछ सालों से वैश्विक स्‍तर पर बाजरे से बने खाद्य उत्‍पाद पॉपुलर हो रहे हैं. यह ग्‍लुटेन फ्री होने के साथ-साथ पौष्टिक तत्‍व से भी भरपूर होता है.

• समझौता-ज्ञापन का उद्देश्य वीजा प्रक्रिया को उदार बनाना है, ताकि छात्रों, शोधकर्ताओं और कुशल पेशेवरों skilled professionals का आवागमन आसान हो तथा दोनों तरफ अनियमित प्रवास irregular migration और मानव तस्करी human trafficking सम्बन्धी मुद्दों पर सहयोग को मजबूत करना है।
• यह समझौता-ज्ञापन प्रतिभाओं के निर्बाध आवागमन से दोनों देशों के बीच नवाचार इको-सिस्टम को मदद करेगा।
