• The first farm-based solar power plant under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Urja Suraksha Evum Utthan Mahabhiyan (KUSUM) scheme has come up in Jaipur district’s Kotputli tehsil with a provision for production of 17 lakh units of electricity every year.

• The 1 MW project has been established on 3.50 acres of farmland in Kotputli’s Bhaloji village.

• The new plant is also the first of the 623 farm-based solar power projects selected by the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) for generating 722 MW capacity in the State under the scheme’s first phase.

• The project has been commissioned following a 25-year contract signed between the RRECL and farmland owner Devkaran Yadav in September 2020. 
• Developed at a cost of ₹3.70 crore, the plant is expected to generate an annual income of ₹50 lakh for Mr. Yadav, as the discom will be purchasing electricity at the rate of ₹3.40 per unit.
• हाल ही में प्रधानमंत्री किसान ऊर्जा सुरक्षा उत्थान महाभियान Kisan Urja Suraksha Evum Utthan Mahabhiyan (पीएम-कुसुम) योजना के अंतर्गत पहला कृषि आधारित सौर ऊर्जा संयंत्र जयपुर (राजस्थान) ज़िले की कोटपुतली Kotputli तहसील में स्थापित किया गया है। इस संयंत्र से प्रत्येक वर्ष 17 लाख यूनिट बिजली का उत्पादन होगा।

• 1 मेगावाट की परियोजना को कोटपूतली के भालोजी Bhaloji गाँव में 3.50 एकड़ खेत पर स्थापित किया गया है।

• नया संयंत्र राजस्थान अक्षय ऊर्जा निगम लिमिटेड  द्वारा चयनित 623 कृषि-आधारित सौर ऊर्जा परियोजनाओं में से पहला है, जो योजना के पहले चरण के तहत राज्य में 722 मेगावाट क्षमता पैदा करने के लिए है।
• बजट 2020-21 के अंतर्गत सरकार योजना का विस्तार करते हुए 20 लाख किसानों को एकल सौर पंप Single solar pump स्थापित करने हेतु सहायता प्रदान करेगी। इसके आलावा अन्य 15 लाख किसानों को उनके ग्रिड से जुड़े Pump sets के सौरीकरण (Solarisation) में मदद करेगी।

Additional Information: देश में सौर पंपों और ग्रिड से जुड़े सौर और अन्य नवीकरणीय बिजली संयंत्रों Renewable power plants की स्थापना के लिए किसानों के लिए पीएम कुसुम योजना शुरू की गई थी।

• It is a flagship initiative of NITI Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

• Atal Tinkering Labs, Atal Incubation Centres, Atal New India Challenges, Mentors of Change, ARISE, etc. are some of the major initiatives under this mission.

• Till now, AIM has established 7259 Atal Tinkering Labs in schools across 650 districts.

• The initiative aims to accelerate recovery and advance the Sustainable Development Goal 4 agenda by driving rapid change in education systems in three of the 2020 Global Education Meeting priorities, support to teachers, investment in skills and narrowing of the digital divide

• The consultation will highlight progress and share lessons learned regarding challenges on digital learning and skills.

• The main aim of this drive is to activate the Van Dhan Vikas Kendras in these villages. 

• The visiting teams will also identify locations and shortlist potential Van Dhan Vikas Kendras for clustering as TRIFOOD, and Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries- SFURTI units as larger enterprises.

• Defence Laboratory Jodhpur (DLJ), a DRDO laboratory, has indigenously developed three variants of this technology namely Short Range Chaff Rocket, Medium Range Chaff Rocket and Long Range Chaff Rocket meeting Indian Navy’s requirements.

• Chaff is a passive expendable electronic countermeasure technology used worldwide to protect naval ships from enemy’s radar and Radio Frequency (RF) missile seekers

• The importance of this development lies in the fact that very less quantity of chaff material deployed in the air acts as a decoy to deflect enemy’s missiles for the safety of the ships.

• रक्षा अनुसंधान और विकास संगठन (DRDO) ने हाल ही में मिसाइल हमलों के खिलाफ नौसेना के जहाजों की सुरक्षा के लिए एक उन्नत चाफ टेक्नोलॉजी विकसित की है।

•  यह दुश्मन की मिसाइलों को डिफ्लेक्ट करने के लिए बहुत कम चाफ मैटेरियल का उपयोग करती है।
• चाफ तकनीक का उपयोग दुनिया भर में नौसेना के जहाजों में दुश्मन के रडार और रेडियो फ्रीक्वेंसी मिसाइल सीकर के खिलाफ आत्मरक्षा के लिए किया जाता है।

Additional Information: 

Akash missiles, manufactured by city-based Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), were flagged off by Lt Gen AP Singh, director general & senior colonel commandant, Army Air Defence for delivery to the Indian Army. 

The Akash Weapon System, designed and developed by DRDO with 96% indigenous content, is manufactured by BDL.
