• Pinarayi Vijayan convened a cabinet meeting after his arrival and then proceeded to Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation.

• As militancy erupted in Jammu and Kashmir, he was made the governor again in 1990 but was removed within a few months as differences between him and the then V P Singh-led government at the Centre grew over tackling the militancy.

• He was honoured with Padma Shri in 1971, Padma Bhushan in 1977 and Padma Vibhushan in 2016.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has unveiled a host of measures to boost fund flow to the healthcare sector and ease the pain of small borrowers and units. 

• The RBI has opened an on-tap liquidity window of Rs 50,000 crore with tenors of up to three years at the repo rate – four per cent — till March 31, 2022 to boost provision of immediate liquidity for ramping up Covid-related healthcare infrastructure and services in the country.

• Under the scheme, banks can provide fresh lending support to a wide range of entities including vaccine manufacturers, importers and suppliers of vaccines and priority medical devices, hospitals and dispensaries, pathology labs, and also patients for treatment

• These loans will continue to be classified under priority sector till repayment or maturity.

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) के गवर्नर शक्तिकांत दास ने कोविड से जुड़े इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर के लिए 50 हजार करोड़ के किफायती लोन की व्यवस्था करने का ऐलान किया है। 

• इसके तहत बैंक वैक्सीन निर्माताओं, ​आयातकों, अस्पतालों, पैथोलॉजी लैब आदि को बैंक लोन देंगे। यह सुविधा 31 मार्च 2022 तक रहेगी।

•  शक्तिकांत दास के मुताबिक यह लोन रेपो रेट पर होगा। फिलहाल रेपो रेट 4 फीसदी का है। 
• इसके अलावा रिजर्व बैंक ने 10,000 करोड़ रुपये तक के स्मॉल फाइनेंस बैंकों के लिए लंबी अवधि के रेपो ऑपरेशन की घोषणा की गई है।

• Parvat Dhara Yojna is being implemented in ten districts of Himachal Pradesh to rejuvenate and recharge aquifers and conserve natural resources of water.

• The scheme with an outlay of Rs 20 crore is being implemented in 10 districts of the State, except Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti

• About 2/3 of the land in Himachal Pradesh is forest land and 27 percent of the land is under forest cover.

• हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार ने  पर्वत धारा योजना आरंभ की है। 

• इसके माध्यम से जल स्रोतों का संवर्धन हो सकेगा। इससे भूजल स्तर में वृद्धि होगी। योजना को 10 वन मंडलों में पायलट आधार पर आरंभ किया गया है।

• इनमें दो करोड़ 76 लाख रुपये खर्च होंगे। 

• इसके तहत 110 छोटे-बड़े तालाब, 600 विभिन्न प्रकार के चेक डैम व चेक वॉल, 12 हजार कन्टूर ट्रैंच का निर्माण होगा। इसके अलावा पौधारोपण भी होगा।

• इस योजना को प्रदेश में लाहुल-स्पीति  Lahaul-Spiti एवं किन्नौर Kinnaur को छोड़कर शेष जिलों में क्रियान्वित किया जा रहा है। इसमें जल शक्ति विभाग नोडल विभाग के तौर पर कार्य करेगा। 

• हिमाचल प्रदेश में दो-तिहाई भूभाग में वन हैं। करीब 27 प्रतिशत भूभाग हरित आवरण से ढका forest cover है, इसलिए पर्वत धारा योजना के क्रियान्वयन में वन विभाग की भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है।

• The two leaders discussed the Covid19 situation and ongoing cooperation in the fight against the pandemic, including the successful partnership on vaccines. 

• The two Prime Ministers launched an ‘Enhanced Trade Partnership’ to unleash the trade potential  by setting an ambitious target of more than doubling bilateral trade by 2030.

•  As part of the ETP, India and the UK agreed on a roadmap to negotiate a comprehensive and balanced FTA, including consideration of an Interim Trade Agreement for delivering early gains. 

• The enhanced trade partnership will generate several thousands of direct and indirect jobs in both the countries.

•  प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी और ब्रिटेन के प्रधानमंत्री माननीय बोरिस जॉनसन के बीच एक वर्चुअल शिखर सम्मेलन आयोजित किया गया।

• शिखर सम्मेलन में एक महत्वाकांक्षी ‘रोडमैप 2030’ को अपनाया गया, ताकि ‘द्विपक्षीय संबंधों’ का दर्जा बढ़ाकर उन्‍हें ‘व्यापक रणनीतिक साझेदारी’ का रूप दिया जा सके। 

• यह रोडमैप अगले दस वर्षों में दोनों देशों के लोगों के बीच पारस्‍परिक संपर्कों, व्यापार एवं अर्थव्यवस्था, रक्षा व सुरक्षा, जलवायु कार्रवाई और स्वास्थ्य जैसे महत्‍वपूर्ण क्षेत्रों में गहन व मजबूत जुड़ाव का मार्ग प्रशस्त करेगा।
• दोनों प्रधानमंत्रियों ने दुनिया की पांचवीं और छठी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्थाओं के बीच व्यापार की संभावनाओं को उन्‍मुक्‍त करने के साथ-साथ वर्ष 2030 तक द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को दोगुना से भी अधिक करने का एक महत्वाकांक्षी लक्ष्य तय करते हुए एक ‘उन्नत व्यापार साझेदारी ‘Enhanced Trade Partnership’ (ETP)’ का शुभारंभ किया।

• Bridenstine stepped down as NASA chief at the end of the Trump presidency in January 2021.

• The Senate Commerce Committee voted to advance Nelson's nomination for the role, and today the full Senate held a confirmation vote. 

• Senators unanimously voted for Nelson to take on the role under the new presidential administration.
