• The Maharashtra government has declared an area at Amboli in Western ghats in Sindhudurg district, where a rare freshwater fish species was discovered, as a biodiversity heritage site.

• Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s son Tejas Thackeray, who is a wildlife researcher, and his team had discovered the new freshwater fish species — Schistura Hiranyakeshi — near Amboli in Sawantwadi tehsil of Sindhudurg district.

• Schistura Hiranyakeshi is a rare sub-species of Schistura, a freshwater loach. 

• The fish was named after the Hiranyakeshi river near Amboli village.

• The State government issued a notification declaring the area at Amboli as a biodiversity heritage site.

• Earlier, the State government had declared the Glory of Allapalli in Gadchiroli district, Landor Khori Park in Jalgaon, Ganesh Khind in Pune, myristica swamp vegetation in Sindhudurg district as biodiversity heritage sites.

• Schistura is a small and colourful fish that lives in water and streams in an abundance of oxygen.

• महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने सिंधुदुर्ग जिले में पश्चिमी घाटों में अम्बोली में एक  जैव विविधता विरासत स्थल घोषित किया है, जहाँ एक दुर्लभ मीठे पानी की मछली की प्रजातियों को खोजा गया था।

• मुख्यमंत्री उद्धव ठाकरे के बेटे तेजस ठाकरे, जो एक वन्यजीव शोधकर्ता wildlife researcher हैं, उनकी टीम ने सिंधुदुर्ग जिले की सावंतवाड़ी तहसील में अंबोली के पास - नई मीठे पानी की मछली प्रजाति -  Schistura Hiranyakeshi  की खोज की थी।

•  Earlier, he has worked as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. 

• ESIC is a Statutory and an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

• The General Assembly on 8 December 2005 declared that each year on 4 April would be officially proclaimed and observed as the International Day for Mine Awareness.

•  It was first observed on 4 April, 2006.

• Indian Army will participate in multinational military exercise namely 'Shantir Ogroshena 2021' (Front Runner of the Peace) in Bangladesh. 

• The nine days exercise will start on April 4 to commemorate the birth centenary of Bangladesh Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mark glorious 50 years of liberation, according to the Defence Ministry.

• Indian Army contingent comprising 30 personnel including Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and jawans of a Battalion from the Dogra Regiment will participate in the exercise along with the contingent of Royal Bhutan Army, Sri Lankan Army and Bangladesh Army.

• The theme of the exercise is "Robust Peacekeeping Operations".

• Military observers from the USA, UK, Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Singapore will also be in attendance throughout the exercise.

• भारतीय सेना बांग्लादेश में 'Shantir Ogroshena 2021' नामक बहुराष्ट्रीय सैन्य अभ्यास में भाग लेगी।

•  बांग्लादेश के राष्ट्रपिता, बंगबंधु शेख मुजीबुर रहमान की जन्मशताब्दी और गौरवशाली 50 वर्षों को चिह्नित करने के लिए नौ दिनों का अभ्यास चार अप्रैल से शुरू होगा।

• भारतीय सेना की टुकड़ी में डोगरा रेजिमेंट के एक अधिकारी, जूनियर कमीशंड ऑफिसर (JCO) और एक बटालियन के जवानों सहित 30 कर्मी शामिल हैं, जो रॉयल भूटान आर्मी, श्रीलंकाई सेना और बांग्लादेश सेना की टुकड़ी के साथ अभ्यास में भाग लेंगे।

• The platform seeks to invite suggestions/inputs/membership from the stakeholders for preparing draft for development of National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) and National Mission for Mentoring Program membership.

•  The “MyNEP2020” platform will be operational from 1st April 2021 to 15th May 2021.

• Expert committee will extensively review the inputs collected during the consultation period and will finally formulate the Drafts for public review. 

• Comments by the reviewers from the stakeholders will then be used to prepare a final Draft for notification.

•  केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री श्री रमेश पोखरियाल  निशंक ’ने NCERT  पोर्टल के लिए “ MyNEP2020 ”प्लेटफार्म लॉन्च किया है।

• इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से NPST यानी कि नेशनल प्रोफेशनल स्टैंडर्ड फाॅर टीचर्स (National Professional Standards for Teachers) और NMM नेशनल मिशन फॉर मेंटरिंग प्रोगाम मेंबरशिप (National Mission for Mentoring Program membership, NMM) के लिए सभी स्टॉकहोल्डर से योजना, सुझाव, इनपुट और सदस्यता आमंत्रित करना चाहता है।

• TAFE is one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of tractors in the Indian market, based out of Chennai.

• The Odisha state government has proposed a second biosphere reserve in the southern part of the state at Mahendragiri. 

• It is a mountain in the Gajapati district of the state.

•  It is at an altitude of 1,501 metres. Mahendragiri is also the second-highest peak in the state.

• The area of the proposed 2nd biosphere reserve of the state- Mahendragiri Biosphere Reserve is approximately 470,955 hectares.

• As per a feasibility report prepared by the Biosphere Reserve Committee for the proposed project, the hill ecosystem is acting as a transitional zone between the flora and fauna of southern India and the Himalayas. This makes the region an ecological estuary of genetic diversity.
• The feasibility report has been submitted to the government which will now be taken up by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
• ओडिशा राज्य सरकार ने महेंद्रगिरी (Mahendragiri) को राज्य के दूसरे बायोस्फीयर रिजर्व के रूप में प्रस्तावित किया है। यह राज्य के गजपति जिले में एक पर्वत mountain है।

• Article 244(A) of the Constitution allows the creation of an ‘autonomous state’ within Assam in certain tribal areas. 

• It was inserted into the Constitution by the Congress government in the year 1969. It also includes a provision for a Legislature and a Council of Ministers.

• Initially, a demand for a separate hill state came up in certain sections of the tribal population of undivided Assam in the 1950s. In the year 1960, several political parties of the hill areas came together to form the All Party Hill Leaders Conference and put forward the demand for a separate state.

• As a result of these prolonged agitations, Meghalaya was formed in 1972.

• Since then, there has been a demand for implementing Article 244 (A) in the state. In the 1980s, a violent movement also took place for the demand.

• हाल ही में कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी (Rahul Gandhi) ने एक वीडियो संदेश में संविधान के अनुच्छेद 244 (ए) (Article 244 (A) of the Constitution) को लागू करने का वादा किया था ताकि असम के आदिवासी बहुल जिलों में लोगों के हितों की रक्षा की जा सके।

• संविधान का अनुच्छेद 244 (ए) असम में कुछ विशेष आदिवासी क्षेत्रों में ‘स्वायत्त राज्य’ के निर्माण की अनुमति देता है। 

• इसे वर्ष 1969 में कांग्रेस सरकार द्वारा संविधान में डाला गया था। इसमें विधानमंडल और मंत्रिपरिषद का प्रावधान भी शामिल है।
