• Albania is playing a critical part in the DEFENDER-Europe 21 exercise with Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore operations taking place.

• DEFENDER-Europe is an annual large-scale U.S. Army-led, multinational exercise, defensive in nature and focused on deterring aggression, which this year focuses on building operational readiness and interoperability with NATO and a greater number of allies and partners over a wider area of operations than ever before.

• Under the project, both the organizations will work together towards Tribal Development and Employment Generation, by providing support to tribals for increasing value addition in their produce and products.

• The MoU was signed by Shri Pravir Krishna, Managing Director TRIFED, and Tony Kalm, CEO and Co-founder, The LINK Fund and was attended by senior officials of TRIFED and The LINK Fund.

• The LINK Fund (TLS) is a practitioner-led fund that, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland and works to end extreme poverty and mitigate the effects of climate change.

• Brazil's Sao Paulo-based Butantan Institute, a state-run medical research facility, has begun to manufacture ButanVac, the first Brazilian vaccine against the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19)

• It will be the first vaccine manufactured entirely in Brazil, without the need to import raw materials

• Production began on the first of an expected 18 million doses by mid-July, though Brazil's Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa) is yet to authorize the vaccine.

• The institute also makes and packages the CoronaVac vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac Life Sciences. 

• CoronaVac has been applied since January 17 as part of Brazil's vaccination campaign against the coronavirus.
