• Squadron Leader Aashritha V Olety recently became the first female flight test engineer in the country after undergoing strenuous training. 

• Olety, who hails from Kollegal, Karnataka, graduated as part of the 43rd Flight Test Course after completing a one-year course at the pilot school.

• She is the first and only woman in the IAF qualified for the role, and as a flight test engineer.

• She will evaluate aircraft and airborne systems before their induction into the Armed Forces of Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE).

Additional Information: The Shergaon Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) of Arunachal Pradesh has been awarded the best panel in the country at the fifth edition of the India Biodiversity Award.

The award was given by the National Biodiversity Authority at a virtual programme on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, (May 22)

• Maharashtra Government has prepared and submitted a tentative serial nomination for 14 forts of the state, to get World Heritage Site tag.

• Maharashtra has listed 14 sites including Shivneri fort, Raigad Fort, Torna fort, Rajgad Fort, Lohagad, Mulher fort, Ankai Tankai forts, Salher Fort, Rangana Fort, Ankai Tankai Forts, Kasa Fort, Sindhudurg Fort, Alibag Fort, Suvarnadurg and Khanderi Fort.

•  All the sites are historically important. They belong to either Peshwa rule or battle between Marathas & Mughals. Some forts also served as naval or army bases for Maratha fighters.

• UNESCO accepted the tentative nomination list of forts forwarded by Archaeology Survey of India through the Ministry of Culture. 

• Now, the state government have to submit a detailed final nomination list to UNESCO enlisting the outstanding value of the sites.

• महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने विश्व धरोहर स्थल का टैग प्राप्त करने के लिए राज्य के 14 किलो के लिए एक  संभावित नामांकन सूची तैयार की थी|

• यूनेस्को ने संस्कृति मंत्रालय के माध्यम से भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण द्वारा प्रस्तावित इन किलों की संभावित नामांकन सूची को स्वीकार कर लिया है।

• महाराष्ट्र ने शिवनेरी किला, रायगढ़ किला, तोरणा किला, राजगढ़ किला, लोहागढ़, मुल्हेर किला, अंकाई टंकई किला, साल्हेर किला, रंगना किला,  कासा किला, सिंधुदुर्ग किला, अलीबाग किला, सुवर्णदुर्ग और खंडेरी किला सहित 14 साइटों को सूचीबद्ध किया है। .

•   सभी स्थल ऐतिहासिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण हैं। वे या तो पेशवा शासन से संबंधित हैं या मराठों और मुगलों के बीच हुई लड़ाई से। कुछ किलों ने मराठा सेनानियों के लिए नौसेना या सेना के ठिकानों के रूप में भी काम किया।
• अब, राज्य सरकार को स्थलों की विस्तृत जानकारी के साथ  यूनेस्को को एक अंतिम नामांकन सूची प्रस्तुत करनी है। 

REVISION: हाल ही में, भारत की ‘यूनेस्को विश्व धरोहर स्थलों’ (UNESCO world heritage sites) की संभावित सूची में छह नए स्थलों को जोड़ा गया है।

इसमे शामिल है:

• मराठा सैन्य स्थापत्य, महाराष्ट्र

• हिरेबेनकल मेगालिथिक साइट, कर्नाटक

• मध्य प्रदेश में नर्मदा घाटी का भेड़ाघाट-लम्हेटाघाट

• A notification in this regard was issued by the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice.

• Shri Vikas Bahl, B.Com (Hons.), LL.B., was enrolled as an Advocate on 23.03.1999.

•  He has more than 19 years of practice at Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Labour, Company, Service, Arbitration cases, Rent and Revenue matters with specialization in Civil and Rent cases.

• भारत के राष्ट्रपति ने, भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 224 के खंड 1 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्ति का प्रयोग करते हुए, श्री विकास बहल को, पंजाब और हरियाणा उच्च न्यायालय के एक अतिरिक्त न्यायाधीश के रूप में, दो वर्ष की अवधि के लिए नियुक्त किया|

• इस संबंध में न्याय विभाग, कानून और न्याय मंत्रालय द्वारा एक अधिसूचना जारी की गई थी।
