• The Disha initiative, a five-year collaboration between UNDP and the IKEA Foundation, enabled one million women through skilling and counselling services to access job and livelihood opportunities across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana. 

• The initiative also provided psycho-social support to mentor and empower women in starting their own enterprises and in challenging gender stereotypes at home and in the community.

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (UNDP) ने भारत के ग्रामीण इलाकों में महिलाओं की आजीविका और उद्यमशीलता की सराहना करने के लिए ‘सही दिशा’ नाम से एक अभियान की शुरुआत की।

• इस अभियान के तहत भारत के ग्रामीण इलाकों में महिलाओं को नौकरियां मिलने, आजीविका के साधनों तथा उद्यम शुरू करने में होने वाली दिक्कतों को रेखांकित किया जाएगा|

• UNDP और IKEA फाउंडेशन ने दिशा पहल के लिए पांच साल की साझेदारी की है।

• Every year, March 20 is observed as World Sparrow Day to raise awareness about sparrows around the world. It highlights the huge decrease in population of the bird as the house sparrow is on the verge of extinction.

• The initiative was started by the India-based Nature Forever Society (NFS), founded by the conservationist Mohammed Dilawar. 

• The first World Sparrow Day was celebrated in 2010 across the globe.

• हर साल 20 मार्च को दुनिया भर में गौरैया के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए विश्व गौरैया दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। 

• इस पक्षी के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने और इसके संरक्षण के लिए विश्व गौरैया दिवस मनाया जाता है. गौरैया भारत में पाया जाने वाला एक सामान्य पक्षी है लेकिन  शहरी क्षेत्रों में यह विलुप्त होने की  कगार पर है|

• भारत की दूसरी सर्वोच्‍च महिला खिलाड़ी सुतीर्था मुखर्जी ने भी टोक्‍यो ओलंपिक्‍स के लिए क्‍वालीफाई किया।

• One major scheme that has contributed to increasing employment and income generation among the tribal population is the Van Dhan tribal start-ups programme, a component of the The ‘Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) & Development of Value Chain for MFP’ Scheme.

• The focus of these initiatives is to make India self-reliant under the Atmanirbhar Abhiyan, with the motto, Go Vocal for Local Go Tribal – Mera Van Mera Dhan Mera Udyam.

• मणिपुर  में  स्थानीय आदिवासियों के लिए रोजगार का एक बड़ा स्रोत वन धन कार्यक्रम बन गया है|

• अक्टूबर 2019 में राज्य में कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया था, तब से 100 वन धन विकास केंद्र स्थापित किए गए हैं।

• वन धन विकास योजना, वन आधारित जनजातियों के लिए स्थायी आजीविका के निर्माण की सुविधा के लिए वन धन केंद्रों की स्थापना करके लघु वन उपज Minor forest produce का मूल्य संवर्धन, ब्रांडिंग और विपणन Promotion, Branding and Marketing के लिए एक कार्यक्रम है।

• इन पहलों का ध्यान भारत को आत्मनिर्भर अभियान के तहत आत्मनिर्भर बनाना है

•  इंडियन नेवी के मुताबिक ये एक्सरसाइज interoperability  बढ़ाने और द्विपक्षीय समुद्री सहयोग को मजबूत करने, प्रवासी और मर्चेंट शिपिंग को बढ़ाने में अहम साबित होगी.

Additional Information: Wrestler Ritika Phogat (17), a cousin of the Phogat sisters, allegedly committed suicide in Haryana's Charkhi Dadri district after she lost the final bout of a tournament, in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

A native of Rajasthan's Jaipur village, Ritika was staying with her uncle and Dronacharya awardee Mahavir Singh Phogat in Charkhi Dadri's Balali village for the past four years.
