• किरण बेदी को पुडुचेरी के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर  पद से हटा दिया गया है।

• तेलंगाना की राज्यपाल डॉ. टी. सौंदरराजन को पुडुचेरी के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर  का अतिरिक्त कार्यभार सौंपा गया है। वह नई नियुक्ति होने तक इस पद का कार्यभार भी संभालेंगी। 

• वी नारायणसामी सरकार से कांग्रेस के विधायकों के इस्तीफे के बाद केंद्र शासित क्षेत्र में राजनीतिक संकट पैदा होने के बाद  किरण बेदी को उनके पद से हटा दिया गया था।
• पुडुचेरी के मुख्यमंत्री वी नारायणसामी और किरण बेदी के बीच काफी लंबे समय से विवाद चल रहा था।
