• Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as well as senior level experience in international conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation.

• Griffiths has spent the last three years as the UN special envoy for Yemen and he briefed the UN Security Council on his latest efforts to peacefully resolve the six-year conflict.

• According to a report by IANS, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on May 11 allocated the finance portfolio to Ajanta Neog, making her the first woman Finance Minister of the northeastern state.

• Neog was elected to the state Assembly from the Golaghat assembly constituency in eastern Assam, and would also hold the social welfare portfolio.

• An influential minister in the previous Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government (2001-2016), Neog had left the party weeks before the March-April Assembly elections to join the ruling BJP. 

• A four-time MLA, the 57-year-old leader retained her Golaghat seat, defeating her nearest opponent Bitupan Saikia of the Congress by a margin of 9,325 votes.

• IANS  की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा ने 11 मई को अजंता नेग को वित्त विभाग आवंटित किया, जिससे वह पूर्वोत्तर राज्य की पहली महिला वित्त मंत्री बनीं।

• नेग पूर्वी असम के गोलाघाट विधानसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्र Golaghat assembly constituency से राज्य विधानसभा के लिए चुनी गयी थी और वे सामाजिक कल्याण विभाग भी संभालेंगे।

• Considering the condition of children who lost both parents in the pandemic, activists had raised their voices and asked the state government to provide aid to such children

• Mayflower 400 is a completely autonomous ship.

•  It is a 15-m-long trimaran that weighs 9 tons. It is powered by Artificial Intelligence and the Sun’s energy via solar panels.

• Recently, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) withdrew its support to the Government of Nepal. 

• According to the party, Oli breached the constitution and is a threat to democracy in Nepal.

• The bilateral relations between India and Nepal weakened under Oli’s leadership. 

• Under his leadership, in May 2020, Nepal released a new political map that claimed Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulekh of Uttarakhand as a part of Nepal territory.
