• टोक्यो ओलंपिक में जाने के लिए तैयार भारतीय शूटर मनु भाकर (Manu Bhaker) को ब्रिटिश ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कारपोरेशन (British Broadcasting Corporation – BBC) द्वारा भारत की इमर्जिंग प्लेयर ऑफ़ द ईयर चुना गया है।

• मनु भाकर ने International Sports Shooting Federation – ISSF वर्ल्ड कप में काफी गोल्ड मेडल हासिल किए। उन्होंने ISSF वर्ल्ड कप फाइनल, चीन में भी गोल्ड मेडल हासिल किया।

• The country’s biggest floating solar power plant till date; by generation capacity, Telangana is set to be commissioned by May-June 2021.

• It is being developed by the NTPC in the reservoir of its thermal plant at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district, Telangana

• This will be one of the renewable (solar) energy plants being developed by the NTPC with an installed capacity of 447 MW in the southern region.

• The entire capacity will be commissioned by March 2023.

• The total cost of the project would be ₹423 crore

• Except for the 230 MW ground-mounted solar power plant at Ettayapuram in Tamil Nadu, the remaining 217 MW capacity was to be commissioned by May-June this year.

• अब तक की देश की सबसे बड़ी फ्लोटिंग सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना मई-जून 2021 तक तेलंगाना में चालू करने की तैयारी की जा रही है।

• यह NTPC द्वारा तेलंगाना के पेड्डापल्ली जिले के रामागुंडम Ramagundam में थर्मल प्लांट के जलाशय Reservoir में विकसित किया जा रहा है।

• यह दक्षिणी क्षेत्र southern region में 447 मेगावाट की स्थापित क्षमता के साथ विकसित किए जा रहे नवीकरणीय (सौर) ऊर्जा संयंत्रों में से एक होगा।
• तमिलनाडु के एट्टायपुरम में 230 मेगावाट के ग्राउंड-माउंटेड सौर ऊर्जा संयंत्र को छोड़कर, शेष 217 मेगावाट क्षमता को इस साल मई-जून तक चालू किया जाना है।

REVISION: विश्व का सबसे बड़ा तैरता हुआ सौर ऊर्जा परियोजना मध्यप्रदेश के खंडवा जिले में नर्मदा नदी पर ओंकारेश्वर बांध पर बनने जा रहा है। 600 मेगावाट वाली यह परियोजना  वर्ष 2022-23 तक पूरी होगी |

• The  appointment would be for two years.

• Samanta will take over from 1986-batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer Kshatrapati Shivaji, who was given additional charge as chief statistician and secretary at Mospi in September. 

• Samanta, had won the prestigious P C Mahalanobis award (medal) for 2006 and 2008, for his outstanding contribution to quantitative economics.

•  केंद्र सरकार  ने डॉक्टर जीपी सामंत  को भारत का नया मुख्य सांख्यिकीविद् (Chief Statistician of India, CSI) नियुक्त करने का ऐलान किया। 

• डॉ. सामंत 1986 बैच के IAS अधिकारी डॉ क्षत्रपति शिवाजी का स्थान लेंगे, जो सितंबर 2020 से Chief Statistician of India का अतिरिक्त प्रभार संभाल रहे थे। सामंत का कार्यकाल शुरू में दो साल का होगा।
