• Tirath Singh Rawat has been sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand after the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat.

• Rawat is a BJP MP and was the party chief in Uttarakhand in 2013-15 and also an MLA from the state in the past.

• Tirath Singh Rawat was the first education minister of the newly formed state Uttarakhand. 

• After this he was elected as state general secretary of Uttarakhand in 2007 and after that state chief electoral officer and state membership chief. 

• In 2012, he was elected as legislative assembly member (MLA) and in 2013 he became Uttarakhand BJP Chief.
• Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat tendered his resignation to Governor Baby Rani Maurya in Dehradun

• For effective implementation of various schemes and programmes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, all major schemes of the Ministry have been classified under 3 umbrella schemes viz. Mission Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti.

• According to the ministry, the step has been taken for the effective implementation of various programmes and schemes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

• As per WCD Ministry, Mission Shakti will consist of the schemes and policies for the empowerment and protection of women. The government has also allocated Rs. 3,109 crores for the scheme in the 2021-2022 budget.

• The Women and Child Development Ministry informed that the government will be merging the Poshan Abhiyan and supplementary nutrition programme to launch Mission Poshan 2.0.

• In the budget 2021-2022, the government has allocated an amount of Rs. 20,105 crores to Mission Poshan 2.0.

• The Ministry has informed that Mission Vatsalya will be looking into the child welfare services and child protection services all over the country. The central government has allocated Rs. 900 crores in the budget 2021-2022 for Mission Vatsalya.

• Rao, who was an Indian space scientist and chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), supervised the 1975 launch of India’s first satellite — “Aryabhata.”
• Rao became the first Indian inducted into the Satellite Hall of Fame in 2013, the same year that PSLV launched India’s first interplanetary mission—“Mangalyaan”—a satellite that orbits Mars.

• अंतरिक्ष विज्ञान में प्रोफ़ेसर राव के योगदान के लिए भारत सरकार ने उन्हें साल 1976 में देश के तीसरे सर्वोचच्च नागरिक सम्मान पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया था. इसके बाद साल 2017 में उन्हें भारत का दूसरा सर्वोच्च नागरिक सम्मान पद्म विभूषण भी दिया गया.

• Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in collaboration with the US space agency, NASA has completed the development of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) which has the capability of producing extremely high-resolution images for joint earth observation satellite missions.

• It is a joint collaboration for the dual-frequency L-Band and S-Band SAR for the earth observation. 

• NISAR is the first satellite mission which will use two different radar frequencies called L-band and S-band. 

• These radar frequencies will be used to measure the changes in Earth’s surface less than a centimetre across.

•  This mission will be launched in the year 2022 from the Sriharikota spaceport of ISRO in Andhra Pradesh.

•  The payload was shipped from the Ahmedabad-based Space Applications Centre (SAC) to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) of NASA.

• भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO) ने अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नेशनल एरोनॉटिक्स एंड स्पेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन (NASA) के साथ मिलकर Synthetic Aperture Radar  (SAR) का विकास पूरा किया है, जिसमें संयुक्त पृथ्वी अवलोकन उपग्रह मिशन के लिए अत्यधिक उच्च-रिज़ॉल्यूशन छवियों high-resolution images के उत्पादन की क्षमता है।

• यह पृथ्वी अवलोकन के लिए दोहरे आवृत्ति एल-बैंड और एस-बैंड SAR के लिए एक संयुक्त सहयोग है। NISAR पहला उपग्रह मिशन है जो एल-बैंड और एस-बैंड नामक दो अलग-अलग रडार आवृत्तियों का उपयोग करेगा।

•  The governor called for sustained efforts to create a gender equal world and promote the role of women in decision-making at all levels from local to global arena. 

• तेलंगाना के राज्यपाल  डॉ तमिलिसाई साउंडराजन को ग्लोबल वूमेन ऑफ एक्सीलेंस 2021 अवार्ड के लिए चुना गया है। इस लिस्ट में तेलंगाना के राज्यपाल के अलावा अमेरिका के उपराष्ट्रपति कमला हैरिस, जो भारतीय मूल की हैं को भी सम्मिलित किया गया है।

• इसके अलावे विभिन्न देशों की 18 अन्य महिलाओं को पुरस्कृत किया जाना है ।

• The decision to formulate such a scheme was taken on the basis of a survey which was conducted by the government to understand the impact of COVID-19 crisis and the subsequent lockdown on the livelihood of people in Delhi.

Additional Information: 

• A budget presented under difficult circumstances is what Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal termed the government’s 2021-22 presentation. The central theme of the budget is ‘Deshbhakti’, While the focus remained on health and education, very few new schemes have been introduced.

• Rs 45 crore have been set aside for this head.

•  Additionally, Rs 10 crore each have been set aside for programmes and events on the lives and contribution of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar.

• आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार ने दिल्ली विधानसभा में बजट पेश किया जिसे  ‘देशभक्ति बजट’ नाम दिया है|

• देश की आजादी के 75 साल पूरे होने के अवसर पर सालभर तक राजधानी दिल्ली में देशभक्ति से संबंधित कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाएगा|

• दुनिया के सबसे बड़े लीडरशिप प्राइज़, 'इब्राहिम प्राइज़ फॉर अचीवमेंट इन अफ्रीकन लीडरशिप-2020' का विजेता घोषित किए जाने के बाद नाइजर के राष्ट्रपति महामदौ इस्सौफू  Mahamadou Issoufou  ने $5 मिलियन (₹36.6 करोड़ से अधिक) का नकद पुरस्कार जीता है।

•  इस पुरस्कार को 2006 में सूडानी अरबपति मो इब्राहिम के फाउंडेशन ने शुरू किया था। इस्सौफू दो कार्यकाल से नाइजर के राष्ट्रपति हैं।
